Africa is building. I'm here to make sure the world knows.
My name is Bankole Mubarak. I'm a tech storyteller — and this newsletter is my life's work in motion.
Let me introduce myself properly.
I’m Bankole Mubarak, tech-driven, story-obsessed, and genuinely convinced that the most exciting things happening in tech right now are happening right here on this continent. I’ve been paying attention to African founders for a while. Watching what they build, how they think, the problems they’re solving that the rest of the world hasn’t even noticed yet.
And one thing has always frustrated me: the stories don’t travel. Not because they aren’t good enough, they’re extraordinary, but because nobody was telling them the right way, to the right people, with the depth they deserve.
So I decided that person would be me.
“I want to tell founders’ stories in a way that makes them feel like I know their product better than they do, and makes readers feel like insiders from the very first line.”
That’s the standard I’ve set for myself with in60. Every edition, I go deep. I sit with the founder, I learn the product, I understand the obsession behind it, and then I write something that does it justice. Not a profile. Not a press release. A real story, told by someone who actually gets it.
in60 exists because of a man named Semudara Abayomi, who has spent two and a half years doing exactly this kind of work, and who built this platform to do more of it, at scale.
Semudara Abayomi · Founder, in60 “Distribution and storytelling is everything. The right story of African founders and startups has to come from African storytellers. No one else can tell it with the same depth or honesty. That is why we built in60. I’ve spent the last two and a half years of my life telling these stories. in60 is how I do more.”
He handed me the keys to this newsletter. 500+ of you already came through before we even opened the door properly. That means something. Now we're inviting the rest of you, come and see what we're building. You won't want to miss it.
We’re covering Fintech, Crypto, AgTech, EdTech, and every corner of African tech where something remarkable is being built. If you’re inspired by people who build, create, and solve, you’re exactly who this is for.
Founders — I want to tell your story.
If you’re building a product and you want the world to know about it, reach out. I’ll tell your story the way it deserves to be told, with the kind of depth that makes your own team read it and say: yes, exactly that.

Welcome to in60. This is just the beginning. — Bankole Mubarak, Head of Newsletter
